When to use them? 

You should use creative guidelines whenever you are designing or updating ads. You can refer to these guidelines when:  

  • Creating new ad creatives to ensure they meet accessibility and effectiveness standards.  

  • Editing existing ads to optimize their performance and ensure they comply with the latest guidelines.  

  • Reviewing ad creatives before submitting them for approval to avoid any issues or rejections.

The following aspect ratios are accepted. We recommend implementing all 3 to maximize available inventory: 

  • Horizontal

We accept MP4 files with a resolution of at least 720 pixels and a minimum 2500kbps bit rate. Videos can be up to 30 seconds. 

Criteo will generate multiple versions of the video file with various resolutions and bitrates to ensure maximum compatibility with users.

Video VAST 

Video VAST creatives are accepted according to the technical specifications and policies outlined below: 

  • VAST 2.0 or higher is supported. 

  • OMID trackers are supported. 

  • Maximum 30 seconds ad duration. 

  • Either a Video MP4, a VPAID or a WRAPPER should be included in the VAST. 

  • Video ads can render in any size of players and ratios. 

  • MP4 files with a resolution of at least 720 pixels and minimum 2500kbps bit rate. 

  • No more than one VAST wrapper that redirect to one VAST in-line is permitted. 

  • Companion ads are not taken in consideration. 

  • Ad Pods (sequence of Linear ads played back-to-back) are not supported. 

  • All ad responses must be SSL-compliant (HTTPS). All servers involved require full SSL certification. 

  • All creatives must be free of applications, such as ActiveX, viruses, exit pops, spyware, and malware. 

  • Vast tag URL can support macro. 

Our system will read to control and detect most of the attributes of your VAST tag. 

Please control and fill out the information if necessary. This information (such as duration, mime-types available, and if your VAST contains VPAID and should only target this inventory) is used to adapt the bidding to your creative.

  • Adult, lingerie or sexual products and services  

  • Drugs or drug paraphernalia  

  • Weapons and weapons accessories  

  • Tobacco or tobacco accessories
