What is Assisted Sales?

Assisted sales represent the number of purchases a line item helped influence, through impressions or clicks, but did not receive attribution credit for. The credit was assigned to a different line item.

This means the shopper saw or engaged with the line item before purchasing, but another line item ended up receiving the attributed sale.

Where does Assisted Sales appear in reporting?

You can view assisted sales at the line-item level under your campaign reporting page. To find them:

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns page on your dashboard.

  2. Select the campaign you want to review.

  3. Go to the Line Items page, and look for the Assisted Sales column.

This column shows how many eligible purchases the line item contributed to without being assigned attribution credit.

Attributed Sales vs. Assisted Sales

A single purchase can only be attributed to one line item. However, multiple line items can be counted as assisting that purchase, as long as they were:

  • Shown to the shopper, and

  • Eligible under the campaign’s attribution settings.

Practical Example

Scenario:

  • Line Items A, B, and C promote similar products.

  • A shopper is exposed to A (impression), C (impression), and then B (click) before purchasing a product, eligible for attribution to the 3 line items (according to their attribution settings).

Outcome:

  • Line Item B receives the attributed sale because clicks take precedence over impressions, and it is the last eligible touch.

  • Line Items A and C assisted the sale and are counted as assisting line items
