Overview of the Ad Review Center

The Ad Review Center is where you will find all submitted line items and their corresponding creatives that are in need of review for every demand-side-created Onsite Display campaign.

To access the Ad Review Center, in your Supply account click Tools in the Global Navigation Menu and then click Campaigns under Ad Review Center.

Navigating the Ad Review Center:

The table of line items in the Ad Review Center is filtered for all campaigns that contain at least one line item that requires review (status is In Review). The table can be filtered and/or sorted a few different ways:

  • Filter by Advertiser: Use the advertiser filter to view line items by a specific advertiser.

  • Filter by Status: Use the status filter to view line items with the In Review, Active or Rejected status

  • Search bar

  • Line item proposals are automatically sorted by the submission date

  • Column headers are sortable

Click the advertiser name to expand the list of campaigns with at least one line item requiring review

Onsite Display

Each Onsite Display line item comprises of a proposal and a creative.

A Proposal

A proposal [first image] contains the line item’s delivery details, including:

  • Schedule: Start Date and End Date

  • Budget

  • # of Impressions

  • Targeting:

    • Page(s) on which the line item will display:

      • Home Page

      • Search Page

        • Including the list of keywords targeted

      • Category Page

        • Including the taxonomy/list of taxonomies targeted

  • Product List: List of products that will be used to attribute performance

  • Advanced Targeting: Optional targeting including Audience, Add to Cart, and Store ID

To see the status of the proposal [second image], hover your mouse over the line item name in the Ad Review Center. A tooltip should appear. A proposal can be any of the following statuses:

  • Approved

  • In Review

  • Rejected

A Creative

A creative is comprised of a:

  • Branding zone

  • Product zone (applicable for Commerce Display formats only; not applicable for Display banners)

    • For Commerce Display formats, the branding zone and product zone should be reviewed in tandem

To see the status of the creative [third image], hover your mouse over the line item name in the Ad Review Center. A tooltip should appear. A creative can be any of the following statuses:

  • Approved

  • In Review

  • Rejected

In the Ad Review Center, for each creative you will be able to review the format (i.e. Butterfly, Showcase, Flagship) and the creative preview.

How to use the Creative Demo Tool

  1. Within the Ad Review Center, click on the Line item that needs to be reviewed.

  2. The review panel will appear on the right hand side of the screen.

  3. Scroll to the bottom to find the Creative Demo tool.

  4. In the Preview Creative modal that appears at the bottom, you can copy the automatically generated preview code and follow the instructions in the modal.

  5. Navigate to the retailer’s environment (desktop, app or mobile), paste the preview code into the search bar, and press Enter.

Important information about the Creative Demo Tool

  • The generated code exists for the lifetime of the line item.

  • When you are in testing mode for your line item the whole retailer site will be in test mode as well, meaning no production ads will appear for 15 minutes.

  • You can enter multiple codes (always one after the other), if you want to preview more ads at the same time. You do not need to wait 15 minutes to preview another ad.

  • Navigate to the context on which the line item was configured to serve (such as a page type, keyword, or taxonomy).

  • Your creative demo should display.

Proposal and Creative Review

Usually, the proposal will be submitted by the advertiser before the creative. We have designed the review process so that you can approve the proposal separate from the creative, and you can review the creative after it is submitted.

To review a proposal and/or creative:

  1. In the Ad Review Center, click on the line item name to open up the review pop-up

  2. At the bottom of the review pop-up, you will have a choice between the following buttons:

    • Approve Proposal

      • This button will appear if only the proposal was submitted, and the creative has not yet been submitted

    • Approve proposal & creative

      • This button will appear if both the proposal and creative have been submitted

    • Reject proposal

Approving a Proposal & Creative

Approving a Proposal

Inactive line item

For an Inactive line item, when you approve a proposal:

  1. The impressions are booked for that advertiser

  2. On the demand-side, the proposal status of the line item will change to Approved

Active line item

An Active line item requires additional review if the advertiser has made incremental edits to the proposal after the original proposal was approved and activated. Decremental edits to Active line items do not require re-review.

If the line item is already Active, it will continue to deliver on the existing, approved settings until the new incremental edits are approved.

After the incremental edits are approved, the line item will start to deliver on the newly approved settings.

Approving a Creative

Inactive line item

If the proposal and creative are both approved, on the demand-side the advertiser will see that the line item status is Approved. This enables the line item to be automatically activated at the start date time.

If the line item start date is in the past, the line item will activate automatically.

If the line item start date is in the future, the line item’s status will change to Scheduled. Once the start date is reached, the line item will activate (move into the Active state) automatically at 12:00am in the advertiser’s time zone.

Approving a Proposal but Rejecting a Creative

Inactive line item

A creative can be rejected for any reason.

The comment posted here will be shown to the advertiser on the demand-side. The advertiser can then update the creative according to the feedback mentioned in your comment and re-submit the creative for review.

Active line item with creative approved previously

If you decide to reject the new, proposed creative then the original creative will continue to deliver.

When you reject the creative, you must explain in the comment field why exactly the creative was rejected. The comment posted here will be shown to the advertiser on the demand-side. The advertiser can then update the creative according to the feedback mentioned in your comment and re-submit the creative for review.

Rejecting a Proposal

Inactive line item

A proposal can be rejected for any reason.

The comment posted here will be shown to the advertiser on the demand-side. The advertiser can then update the proposal according to the feedback mentioned in your comment and re-submit the proposal for review.

Active line item

An Active line item requires additional review if the advertiser has made incremental edits to the proposal after the original proposal was approved and activated. Decremental targeting changes to Active line items do not require re-review.

If you reject an Active line item’s edited proposal:

When the incremental edits are rejected, the line item will continue to deliver on the existing, approved settings. The advertiser will still have the opportunity to update their proposal and re-submit those changes for review.

Authorization

Admin and Business Manager account types have the authority to approve or reject Onsite Display proposed line items and/or creatives within the Ad Review Center.
