🚀 CPC Bid Guidance for Sponsored Products (a.k.a. Suggested Bids)

A suggested bid range is now displayed under the Edit Bid (CPC) controls for all Open Auction Onsite Sponsored Products line items.
The range is computed by taking the distribution of winning CPCs in the relevant taxonomy(s) using historical click data from the previous 14 days. The lower and upper bounds reflect the 30th and 70th percentile of the distribution, respectively.

In a first-price auction, the highest bidder wins and pays their bid amount, with no regard to what the next highest bidder (i.e. competition) may be bidding.
Thus, bid guidance in this context is invaluable to advertisers as it can help them understand the competitive landscape and determine the optimal amount to bid in order to increase their chances of winning, all while avoiding the risk of dramatic overpayment.
Advertisers stand to benefit from increased win rates, at lower costs, leading to better overall efficiency.
