Brand Safety
Select specific brand safety categories you would like to exclude through DoubleVerify. Here you will be able to add categories to exclude from the list provided. Once selected to exclude, the line item will never appear alongside any content in those categories. This section serves as an extra measure of precaution in addition to the Domain and App Bundle blocklists.

We work with the global leaders in digital media quality, which makes them the perfect trusted partners for Criteo's Commerce Max offering to our brands, agencies, and retailers.
Brand safety pre-bid targeting determines whether the placement is contextually appropriate and relevant for an ad before a bid is placed. It prevents ads from appearing in environments not suited for the brand (Ex: adult, alcohol, illegal content, drug, hate, speech, offensive language, violence, etc).
Commerce Max pre-bid targeting ensures that bidding happens only on quality impressions, which helps to save costs and lower block rates. It also helps to protect your brand, avoid invalid traffic and fraud, as well as reduce waste and maximize return.
Brand Safety Pre-Bid Targeting Options
DoubleVerify
The targeting of DoubleVerify segments allows the exclusion of various brand safety categories and defines levels of risk – “High”, “High and Moderate”, and “High, moderate, and low risk”.
High Risk: Your ads won’t appear on sites that have a high chance of containing this content. This option is more risky but has greater ad reach.
High and Moderate Risk: Your ads won’t appear on sites that have a moderate and high chance of containing this content. This option is less risky but has less ad reach.
High and Moderate and Low Risk: Your ads won’t appear on sites that have a low, moderate, and high chance of containing this content. This option is the safest option, with the least ad reach.
When selecting one or more categories, you will have the option activate the toggle of “serve ads if category is unknown”. We recommend activating it to help delivery.
IVT Pre-bid Targeting Options
Integral Ad Science (IAS)
IAS offers IVT protection in Commerce Max to give your campaigns an added layer of security when running an Offsite campaign type. IVT Filters help protect your campaigns from bot traffic, non-human traffic, or ad fraud and will ensure your advertising dollars are being put to good efforts, and your KPIs are accurate.
The IVT segments available via IAS are IVT pages, IVT applications, and IVT IP addresses. Definitions for each are below:
Exclude High Risk Suspicious Activity: This removes the majority of invalid traffic pages and applications from your campaign, but allows you to scale more easily.
Exclude High and Moderate Risk Suspicious Activity: This acts as an additional layer of protection against invalid traffic pages and applications and applies a more stringent methodology.
Exclude IVT IP addresses: This removes the majority of invalid IP addresses traffic from your campaign.”
When selecting one or more categories, you will have the option to toggle “serve ads if category is unknown”. We recommend toggling it on to help delivery.
Assigning IVT to your line item.
You can assign IVT protection via IAS by following the below steps within the Line Item workflow.
Navigate to the line item you want to assign IVT protection to
Proceed to Step 4: Targeting within the line item workflow
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the drop down next to the Invalid Traffic
Click the edit icon next to Integral Ad Science (IAS)
The selection window will appear. In this window you can select the segments you want to avoid
Click Save
And you should be all set!
Viewability Pre-bid Targeting Options
Integral Ad Science (IAS)
IAS offers pre-bid viewability control Commerce Max to provide your campaigns with a protected viewability rate when running an Offsite campaign type. If this option is enabled, C-Max will only bid on requests with viewability equal to or above the selected value.
Assigning pre-bid viewability to your line item.
You can define the minimal viewability rate via IAS by following the below steps within the Line Item workflow.
Navigate to the line item you want to define the pre-bid viewability rate to
Proceed to Step 4: Targeting within the line item workflow
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the drop-down, next to Viewability
Click the edit icon next to Integral Ad Science (IAS)
The dropdown will appear. In this list, you can select the minimal viewability rate you want to reach
Click Save
And you should be all set!
